Project Management


Project management is the role of ensuring that all aspects of a given production run smoothly by overseeing a number of people/ departments. The project manager would ensure that deadlines are met and the brief is followed by communicating with others and holding them to account.


  • Project management is the effective planning and running of a project, from the ideas point to the end product and evaluation.
  • Planning requires an outline of the tasks, deadlines and milestones that will be required to manage the project efficiently. 
  • A project timeline schedule would need to be created for the creation of the media product, to include:

  1. Tasks that need to be done
  2. Deadlines for each task
  3. Milestones with tasks and the overall project.

Project management tools:
Gantt chart - Designed by mechanical engineer Henry Gantt in 1910, the Gantt chart has had a relatively long run as a project management tool. A Gantt chart uses horizontal bars to illustrate project completion dates, progress, and milestones and dependencies.

Budget on a film of my choice (Grimsby)

GRIMSBY The budget for Grimsby was 35 million USD.  Grimsby  is a 2016 action comedy film directed by Louis Leterrier and written by Sacha Baron Cohen, Phil Johnston, and Peter Baynham. P hotography   of the film commenced on the 4th of June 2014, at  North   Weald railway station , and around the  Epping Forest   area in  Essex , England. The shooting lasted for six weeks in the UK and then moved to South Africa.  On 10–11 July,  Sascha Baron Cohen was filming Grimsby in Tilbury, which was modeled to resemble 1980s  Grimsby . On 14 July, Sascha Baron Cohen and Strong were spotted filming some scenes for the film in the streets. Grimsby  grossed $6.9 million in North America and $18.1 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $25 million, against a budget of $35 million. Target Audience

Target Audience -  A specific group of people who are interested in a particularly product. This group can be defined by age, gender, socio economic class, ethnicity or a mix of these sections. Quantitative audience research is when companies gather large amounts of information from large groups of people to determine how best to make their product appeal to the target audience. The information is collected through emails, surveys, phone calls or a questionnaire. Socio economic status - This is a means for some people to predict behaviour based on how much a person earns, where they live and their type of education and the characteristics a person may have.
