Budget Video Notes

LOW BUDGET FILM MAKING

Resources:

 - Use locations you have access to so that you don't have to spend money on location, for example, using one of your family houses to film a scene.

- Use actors you know will work with you to save hassle, and if they don't want to then use friends or family. Use family/friends who are actually interested in acting because friends and family who aren't interested will act worse then the ones that are.

- Use friends and family as extras too to save money.

- Borrow equipment or use friends/family equipment such as borrowing friends/ family cameras and lights.

- Rent equipment such as lights and camera

- When writing the script, use no more then 4-5 locations (minimise locations)

- Minimise travel time as travelling costs a lot of time and money

- Minmise the amount of characters used.

- Write and give roles to your actors strengths

- Avoid scenes with extras

- Avoid night scenes as it involves using a lot of lights

- Avoid writing CG scenes as they involve a lot of time and money

- Location scout in advance so you know, for example, the best time of day to film there

- Selective camera movement

- Buy meals for cast in bulk

- Film during sunset as you can get some nice, beautiful lighting

  1. Ok, these are some good notes, well done.

Could you please just answer these three questions and put them into your blog post.

    What was the task?
    What did you learn?
How will this help you in preparing for your exam?

    All the best
